Pilgrims Newsletter

The Friars issues a quarterly newsletter, which is traditionally written by the resident Prior. It is a great way to be kept informed of news and events at The Friars and it is also a very important outreach to our friends and supporters who can no longer physically visit our beautiful Priory.

It is easy to sign up for the newsletter and you may do so with no obligation. Each newsletter comes with Novena prayers and a Mass intentions form. You can also purchase small gifts and Mass cards via the Newsletter office (details are on the order form enclosed). 

At Easter we offer pilgrims the opportunity to buy a lily to remember a loved one – these lilies are placed in a chapel over the Easter period and the names are recorded in a special register. At Christmas we offer pilgrims the opportunity of buying a candle, which is lit over the Christmas period. Lilies and candles can be purchased through the newsletter office or in person at The Friars Reception.

*** Support The Friars *** Monthly Draw (100+ Club)

Everyone who joins, at £12 a year, is issued a number which enters the monthly draw.  The draw takes place on the second Sunday of each month after the 10.15am Mass and the winning number receives a prize of £50, except for the month of December when the prize is £100. Extra numbers can be added for another £12 a year. To renew your subscription which is due in August, or to join the Monthly Draw for the first time, please send your name, address and to save on postage costs please provide an email address, along with a separate cheque made out to The Friars for £12. Thank you.
